Home Healthcare Information for Patients and Families

Apismellis offers home healthcare services for seniors and homebound patients. Our home healthcare services include medical support and education for individuals who are returning home from the hospital following an accident, illness, or surgery and for individuals who are living with a chronic illness. Apismellis Homecare offers medical services to patients that require care on an intermittent (not daily) basis. All of the home healthcare services, which are provided by our home healthcare agencies located in Missouri and Arizona, must be considered medically necessary and physician prescribed.

Our Home Healthcare Services

Our home healthcare services are provided by highly trained and skilled nurses, therapists, and medical professionals. These services are designed to provide important treatment, therapy, and medical services, which manage medical conditions and promote a patient's recovery. Additionally, our professional home healthcare services are designed to educate and inform patients and their families on important medical treatment and care information.

Home Healthcare Admission Guidelines

Apismellis Homecare has specific admission guidelines that apply to all of our skilled and specialty nursing programs. In order to qualify for our home healthcare services, all patients must meet these admission guidelines. Additional qualification guidelines may also apply to specific types of home healthcare services.

While qualification guidelines for home healthcare services are typically determined by a patient's payer including Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, or the patients themselves, in most cases, in order to qualify to receive our home healthcare services, a patient must:

  • Require the administration of home healthcare services as ordered by a physician.
  • Require medically necessary skilled nursing or rehabilitation therapy.
  • Be able to receive home healthcare services on a periodic or intermittent basis rather than continuous care required on a daily basis.
  • Be homebound, unless this is not required by the patient's payer. Homebound patients are defined as any patient who leaves their home infrequently and those that require a great deal of effort and often assistance to do so.
