Home Health Aide Services

As a leading home care service provider for seniors and homebound individuals, Apismellis Homecare offers home health aide services to patients. Home health aides assist patients with hygiene and personal care related tasks such as bathing or changing bed linens. A patient's physician, nurse, or therapist can recommend the addition of certain services performed by a home health aide as part of the patient's overall care or recovery plan. In order for patients to be eligible for home health aide services from Apismellis Homecare, they must meet our eligibility guidelines provided below. Home health aide services are ideal for seniors and other individuals dealing with chronic diseases who need personal or light medical care in order to stay in their home.

Types of Home Health Aide Services

Home health aides provide a number of services that are designed to help meet the needs of home care patients suffering from chronic diseases or other short- and long-term illnesses. The services offered by home health aides are intended to supplement and support each patient's plan of care. Therefore, home health aide services, as offered by the caregivers at our home health agency, are recommended and authorized by a patient's physician, registered nurse, or physical therapist. When prescribed by physicians as part of a patient's recovery program, home health aides can easily become one of a patient's most valuable care team members. Roles that home health aides can serve for patients include assisting patients to complete their physical or occupational therapy program or assisting patients with important hygiene and skin care management duties.

Specific services that are offered by our home health aides include, but are not limited to:

  • Bathing
  • Grooming
  • Light meal preparation
  • Changing bed linens
  • Light laundry
